Anna and Petar Kokotovic - Bequest

For 18 years from 1990 2008, Anna led CALM as the agency's Executive Director. She demonstrates her continued belief in CALM's mission through a decision made with husband, Petar, to include CALM in their estate plan. "CALM has a special place in my life as I continue to witness the impact dedicated, hard-working staff are having on children and families. Traumatized children become successful at home and in school. Parents learn how to properly care for and support their children. CALM's in-home and school-based presence keeps children out of harm's way and gives teachers and parents the ability to recognize the early warning signs of abuse." Anna is especially happy that CALM continues to serve as a training site for students from UCSB and Antioch, that UCSB researchers continue to demonstrate the effectiveness of evidence-based treatment at CALM, and that the Forensic Interviewing approach started by CALM is now the standard for investigation and prosecution of sexual abuse throughout Santa Barbara County.
"Petar and I make support for CALM's future, as well as support for current programs and services, a key part of our retirement planning. We have made substantial gifts to the "Keep CALM" Campaign and "CALM for Kids" Campaign and are leaving a bequest to CALM in our wills so that children will continue to receive the benefits of CALM long into the future."
