Tina Hansen McEnroe - Foundation Distribution

Tina Hansen McEnroe - Foundation Distribution

When it comes to fulfilling her life's purpose, self-described "down in the trenches teacher," Tina Hansen McEnroe, has made children and education a top priority. Now, a dedicated philanthropist, Tina serves as associate director at the Tina Hansen McEnroe & Paul V. McEnroe Reading & Language Arts Clinic at UCSB and teaches school at the oldest one-room wooden schoolhouse in Santa Barbara County. Tina and her husband restored the 1869 Pleasant Valley Schoolhouse and moved it onto Rancho La Purisima, a commercial horse breeding and cattle ranch they own in the Santa Ynez Valley. According to Tina, "This is a dream realized for me to have children reenact history and experience the tradition of hands-on lessons in an 1890 teaching style format."

Tina's relationship with CALM is another dream realized. For several years, she has sponsored a therapeutic riding program for CALM and given generously to the annual fund and special events. "I have been very fortunate in my life and have always been drawn to children's innocence and the way they look upon the world. I want all children to succeed. This is why CALM is among a select list of charities I chose to include in my estate planning. I want every child to be safe at home. It gives me peace of mind to wake up each day knowing long after I am gone, CALM's work will continue, and children remain a priority when it comes to being safe from the trauma of abuse."

CALM is grateful for Tina's decision to become a member of the Children's Legacy Society by pledging to support the treatment and prevention of child abuse by including in her estate plan an annual distribution to CALM from the Tina Hansen McEnroe Educational Foundation.
